Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions people actually ask us in the chat. Each one links to the article that covers it in full. When a new question comes in twice, it goes here.

Can I add Replium to a site built on WordPress, Tilda, Wix, Shopify or another builder?

Yes — anywhere you can paste a script tag. The chat widget is one line of HTML, with no plugin and no key, so installing it is the same everywhere:

  1. In your Replium console, open Widget and save your site's address under Where the widget runs. Save it exactly as visitors see it in the address bar — example.com and www.example.com are two different addresses, and so is the builder's own address (yoursite.wixsite.com, yoursite.tilda.ws, yourshop.myshopify.com) if visitors can still reach the site there.
  2. Copy the script line shown under Add this script to your site.
  3. Paste it into your builder's site-wide code field, the one that goes into every page — ideally just before the closing </body> tag, though the page header works too, since the script loads with async. Builders name that field differently, and the names change over time:
    • WordPress — a header-and-footer plugin such as WPCode (Code Snippets → Header & Footer), or your theme's "custom code" field. Editing the theme's footer.php works as well, but a theme update overwrites it.
    • Shopify — Online Store → Themes → Edit code, file theme.liquid.
    • Tilda — Site Settings → More → HTML code for the HEAD section.
    • Wix, Squarespace, Webflow — Custom Code, Code Injection and Custom code in the site settings. On these three, adding your own code usually needs a paid plan with your own domain connected.
    • Hand-written or any other site — the shared template or footer that every page uses.
  4. Publish the site, open any page and check that the launcher appears in the corner. The last card on the Widget page, Check the widget is live, turns green once a visitor's browser has loaded it.

Details and troubleshooting: Install the chat widget on your site.

The launcher shows, but the chat says it is temporarily unavailable

Your site is running on an address that is not saved in the workspace — usually www versus the bare domain, or http versus https. The Check the widget is live card on the Widget page names the exact address it was refused on: add that address and save. Nothing needs to be re-installed.

Do I need a developer to set it up?

No. For the chat you paste one line before the closing body tag of your site — no DNS, no SDK, no build step. Your help center is live at your-workspace.replium.chat/kb the moment you publish your first article.

Will the widget slow my site down?

No. The script loads with async, so it never holds up your own page, and the widget draws itself once it is ready. Loading the tag twice on one page is harmless — the second copy notices the first and stops.

Is the free plan really free?

Yes: you and one teammate answering, 100 conversations a month, 50 help articles, no card and no expiry date. The only thing we ask in return is a small "Powered by Replium" line in the widget and at the foot of the help center. If we ever change what the free plan includes, workspaces already on it keep what they signed up for.

What happens when I reach 100 conversations in a month?

Conversations that are already open carry on as normal — the limit is on new ones. The counter resets at the start of each calendar month. If you reach it every month, that is the point where Pro is worth a conversation.

How do I get the Pro plan?

Pro cannot be bought from the console yet. Start on the free plan and write to us in this chat: we will set it up with you. Pro gives you more people answering (up to 25 seats), more conversations and no Replium badge.

How many people can answer chats?

Two on the free plan — you and one teammate — and up to 25 on Pro. An invite nobody has accepted yet holds a seat too. Roles and seats: Invite your team and choose their roles.

How do I find out that a customer wrote if nobody is at the console?

Replium emails the workspace's owners and admins when a customer writes while nobody from the team is online and the message is still unanswered after a few minutes. You choose the delay and a quiet period, so a busy hour arrives as one email rather than eleven. How it works: Alerts: know when a visitor is left waiting.

What do visitors see when we are closed?

If you set working hours on the Widget page, the widget tells visitors when you are back, in their own time zone. Their messages still reach your inbox — nothing is blocked. An automatic first reply can say something different inside and outside your hours: Auto-reply.

Does an AI answer my customers?

Not in your workspace yet. An assistant that answers from your own published articles, and hands the conversation to a person when they do not cover the question, is running on our own help center while we get it right. When it is switched on for other workspaces, it comes to Pro first. Until then, the answers come from your team.

We already answer customers by email. Does that fit?

Yes. Every workspace has its own email address, shown on the Integrations screen. Forward your support mail to it and each letter becomes a conversation in the same inbox as the chat; your reply goes back to the customer as an email.

Can I change my workspace name or address?

Not from the console — the address is fixed once the workspace exists. Write to us in this chat and we will change it by hand.

Can I connect Claude, Cursor or another AI tool?

Yes, over MCP, with a personal token you create once. The tool can then search, write and edit your articles and work with the inbox. Step by step: Connect an AI client to your workspace over MCP.

I did not get the confirmation email after signing up

Check the spam folder first, then the address you typed — a typo means the mail never arrives, and nothing on our side can tell you. The link is good for 24 hours; if it ran out, fill the signup form in again. Nothing was created, so there is nothing to clean up. More: Sign up and get your workspace.
